Christian Life Studies

Christian Life Studies offer a place where you can connect with other believers and explore various topics that will help in your walk with Christ. Classes begin on Wednesday, September 19 at 6:30pm. The length of each class and cost will vary.

The deadline to register for Christian Life Studies is Sunday, September 16.

Class Information

Honor Begins at Home (Men Only)
This eight-week study based on the movie, Courageous, will take men deeper into biblical truths for a godly family. Topics that will be explored include redeeming your history, walking with integrity, winning and blessing the hearts of your children, and more. The cost of the class is $7 and it will be taught by Jim Lambeth.

Hope For Single Moms (Women Only)
A care group for single moms where they can find love, support, and encouragement. Dinner will be provided each week at 5:30 in the chapel for single moms and their children. The cost of this class is free, but you must sign up. This class will be led by caring women of Crossway.

Getting to the Heart of Parenting
Parenting in a secular world is not easy.  Our society is working to desensitize children younger and younger to the sins of the world. This, in turn, makes our job harder and harder to lead children on a path of righteousness.  There are many books and methods for parenting out there, but none better than THE book. The Bible gives us everything we need to get to our children’s hearts, which is what directs and rules their behavior.  The goal of this workshop is to help you see misbehavior not as a frustration but as an opportunity to be a part of what God is seeking to do in the heart of your child.  This class will be led by Chad & Shelly Wallin and the cost is $5.

Financial Peace University
This course teaches God's way of handling money. Through videos, class discussion, and small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will address how to save and spend wisely, eliminate debt and much more. The cost is $90 and will be taught by Coby Cullins.

The Eden Diet
The Eden Diet book will help you to identify and beat your emotional eating triggers, mindless eating habits, and sinful urges that lead you to eat for taste when you're not actually hungry. The course will be led by Robin Goss and will include a weekly Biblical challenge. The cost is $13.

Women’s Discipleship (Women Only)
This 12-week course, taught by Carla Maclachlan, uses scripture to help develop the lifestyle of each person into a genuine disciple of Jesus. This study will help believers to identify the expectations laid out in the Bible, build Christ-centered relationships and develop further spiritual maturity in their walk with Jesus. There is no cost for this class.

Sign Language
Learn a visual language and the culture of an unreached people group. This will be an 8-week course for basic American Sign Language. The cost is $15 and it will be taught by Vivian Crowley.

Operation Christmas Child Summer Project

The Project

Crossway is filling 1000 shoeboxes with fun items, to send around the world into dark places so that children can learn about Jesus as their savior.

How You Can Help

If you have not had an opportunity to participate through a Bible Fellowship class or want to do more, there are a few different ways you can help:

  1. Shop for one or more of the assigned items
School Supplies: 20-30 boxes of crayons/scissors; 10-15 packs of pencils/pens; 20-30 spiral notebooks (70 page .25 at Walmart)
    Clothing: Boy's underwear size 10-12; toddle 2-4t

Any items collected should be placed at the OCC Table by Sunday, August 12.

  2. If you're unable to shop for the items or would like to help with additional funds, you can place your gift in one of the OCC labeled envelopes found at the OCC table. Place the envelope in the offering when collected or drop it off at the Resource/Connect Desk. Please make any checks payable to Crossway Baptist Church.

  3. Prayerfully consider how many shoeboxes you wish to sponsor (a suggested donation of $13 will cover all items in a shoebox). A gift of any amount will be welcomed and appreciated!

Packing Party

There will be a packing Party on Thursday, August 16 at 6pm in the Student Center Gym. This will be a time where we pack all the items collected into shoeboxes and pray over the boxes – that God would bless the work done and use them to reach children with the gospel.
